Turkey Burger

Here is the ultimate burger to pair with my homemade burger buns. Constructed with ingredients grown straight from our garden, excluding the turkey of course, this towering, hunger satisfying giant can take on those beef burgers any day.

 

Sitting atop a feta cheese & mayo base, served with the entire garden right on top, this burger is an explosion of fantastic earthy vibes.

 

Turkey Burger 

“Juicy ground turkey burger topped with feta cheese,  sliced yellow squash, shaved beets, ripe tomatoes, lush green leaf lettuce, fresh basil and parsley nestled between a homemade chipotle burger bun.”

 

Prep Time: 30 minutes                                      Total Time: 30 minutes                                     Serving Size: 8 Burgers  

 

 

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch chives, minced

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 2 tablespoons chicken base

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons black pepper

  • 2 pounds ground turkey

Toppings 

  • 8 burger buns 

  • 1 cup mayonnaise

  • 1 1/2 cups feta cheese

  • 1 yellow squash, sliced thin

  • 2 roasted beets, sliced thin

  • 2 roma tomatoes, sliced thin

  • 2 avocados, sliced thick

  • 1 head green leaf lettuce

  • 2 bunches basil, fresh

  • 2 bunches parsley, fresh

  • White wine vinegar to taste

  • Kosher salt to taste

 

Directions

  1. In a food processor, grind together all of the ingredients, excluding the ground turkey, until completely ground. 

  2. Mix together with the ground turkey and form 1/4 pound patties. Refrigerate until cold. 

  3. Spray grill with cooking spray and grill turkey burgers until an internal temperature of 165° Fahrenheit is reached.

  4. Top burgers with remaining ingredients. Be sure to toss all vegetables with a drizzle of white wine vinegar and a pinch of salt.
